Click on the links to routes of some popular routes from the Southend area. Southend Wheelers' Club Runs generally start from Canewdon Village Hall at 9am and 10am. The 9am group generally ride a loop of around 45 miles returning to Canewdon for tea/coffee and cake around 11:45. The 10am group generally remain in the locality of Canewdon exploring the local lanes, Pagelsham and Wallasea Island. A ladies group often meet at The Anne Boleyn for a ride around Barling and Shoebury before returning to Canewdon. The Viper and Beggar Hill - A 52.5mile loop from Canewdon to The Viper and Beggar Hill vua Margaretting Tye, as ridden on 11th June. If starting from Battlesbridge, the route can easily be extended to include Highmore (before The Viper) and Blackmore (after Beggar Hill). Ingatestone can be avoided by using the ford as per the route of the London-Southend ride. GPX File
Woodham Walter Loop - Canewdon - Tropical Wings - Bicknacre - Woodham Walter - Paper Mill Lock - Boreham - Sandon - West Hanningfield - Leather Bottle Hill - Warren Road - Rettendon Village - Battlesbridge - Canewdon. 51 miles, as ridden on 28th May at almost 20 mph. GPX File
