Club Hilly TT, Sunday May 18th

This event must be completed in order to qualify for the Club Best All Rounder Championship.

Course E39/6b, South Hanningfield. 3 laps 19 miles. (juveniles 2 laps 12.7 miles). Start 09.00.

Entries to by Wednesday May 14th please. Late entries at the discretion of the timekeeper. Headquarters South Hanningfield Village Hall. There is very limited car parking at the HQ so please park sensibly. The car park at the finish was closed on Sunday May 11th so probably won't be available for overflow.

Course description:
Start at PO box at South Hanningfield Village Hall, South Hanningfield Road. Proceed eastwards to junction with with old A130 where turn left to proceed north to turn left, sign post West Hanningfield. Continue to West Hanningfield where turn left into Middlemead, proceed to junction with South Hanningfield Road where left to complete one lap. (6.45 miles). Continue for 2 more laps, (1 lap juveniles) to finish on 3rd lap, (2nd lap juveniles) in Middlemead opposite iron gates approximately 150 metres before junction with South Hanningfield Road.

Initial survey of the course exposed the following minor hazards:
Pothole adjacent to drain cover approx. 3/4 mile after start in South Hanningfield Road.
Broken road surface across South Hanningfield Road immediately after new A130 flyover.
Large pot hole on the corner at second left turn, sign post West Hanningfield and another large pot hole on left approx 1/2 mile further on.
Large pot hole on left in West Hanningfield village.

Apart from the broken road surface in South Hanningfield Road, all these minor hazards can be easily avoided if riders keep a good lookout ahead.

All riders must read the On the Day Course Risk Assessment for any updates of the above and additional risks, before they start. This will be available at the HQ."

Canewdon Village Hall will be closed on May 18th; if you are not riding or marshalling please support the event by basing your ride at South Hanningfield Village Hall, though if you ride the roads that make up the course, please do so in the opposite direction to the time triallers
