Sunday 26th April - Essex Roads Spring Road Race, Bicknacre / Radar Hill Circuit
On a cold and rather miserable day James Jenkins and Ben Willy represented the Wheelers in the Essex Roads 3/4 Spring Road Race. Plenty of overnight rain and persistent drizzle made for difficult riding conditions. Unfortunately, Ben got caught up behind an accident and became detached from the bunch. James managed to sit in and hold his own in the reduced main field. With podium positions already sorted, out the peloton had a sprint finish up Radar Hill after 70 k of racing. James, using all his new found racing nous, managed to snatch 9th place in only his second open road race. Thanks to all the Wheelers who turned out to cheer him on.

Monday 6th April - Alan Rosner Memorial Races, Hog Hill
Katie Elliston:
It was a great day today, the sun was out and my face went red. I have never seen so many people at Redbridge before. I came 9th in the girls U14 race, just off the main bunch. We had to race for 8 full laps of the circuit which was tiring. I managed to lap a few U16s and U14s (both races ran at the same time). There were clubs from as far afield as Wolverhampton and Bournemouth. It was the first time that I have raced on this club bike. My max speed was 34.3,ph - it felt good.
