2016 September Racing and Time Trial Update

Sunday 25th September - 2016 25 Mile Cup
The 2016 Sunday League culminated with the 25 Mile Cup. There were no Southend Wheelers entries for the Juvenile 10 mile event, though Harry Wood of Maldon put in a cracking time of 24:20 on a very windy morning.
In the main event three Wheelers managed to beat the hour; Chris Smith III in 59:32, Jamie Maidment (fresh from winning the Maldon 10 yesterday) in 59:20 and the winner, James Jenkins, in 56:29. Barry Simpson was fastest Veteran and first on Vets Age Std and Denise Kemp was fastest Lady. Jamie Maidment was first on Handicap. 25 Mile Cup Results
Chris Smith did just enough to take the Sunday League, just one point above Jamie Maidment. Peter Stiff was third. The final standings in the Handicap table were exactly the same, Peter Stiff took the Veterans title from Terry Butcher and Barry Simpson. Leslie Pearce is the Ladies Sunday Champion, Jordan Kemp the Junior Champion and Katie-Ann Elliston the Juvenile champion. We still have the Hill Climb and Christmas TTs up for grabs, but these events are not part of the Sunday League. Sunday League Tables
