July Racing and Time Trial Update


Wednesday 26th July - Wednesday League, Steeple E21
Just seven Wheelers and two guests braved the wind tonight with Peter Stiff taking first place, some 30 seconds ahead of second placed Nick Morley. Adrian Cartwright was First on Handicap and Katie-Ann Elliston fastest Lady. Glen Moylan was fastest overall. Results    Tables

Tuesday 25th July - Maldon 10, Steeple E21
Steve Shore recorded a time of 26:22 and Andy Merchant 27:45

Sunday 23rd July - ECCA 10, Bulphan E34
Chris Smith III was second fastest on the day with a time of 21:37

Wednesday 19th July - Wednesday League, East Hanningfield E18 with Essex Roads
After the roadworks we are finally back on the E18 course where Peter Stiff took all the honours (fastest rider, fastest Vet, First on handicap & First on Vet Age Std) with Carol Cartwright the fastest lady. Results    Tables

Wednesday 12th July - Wednesday League, Steeple E21
David Pennington was fastest rider in 23:38, Peter Stiff fastest Vet in 24:49, Michael Hennessy first on Handicap and Katie-Ann Elliston fastest Lady.Results    Tables

Sunday 9th July - Southend Wheeler Championship 10, E34 Bulphan
Paul Hart set the best 10 mile time of the season as he powered his way to the 2017 10 Mile Cup in a time of 19:59. Dan Jankins was Fastest Vet and First on Vet Age Standard in 26:41 and Katie-Ann Elliston fastest Lady in 29:16.
Elsewhere there were PBs for Chris Smith III (21:15, good enough for second), Simon Smith (24:09), John Gretton (24:45), Terry Butcher (25:26), Andy Merchant (25:49) and Hannah Bardell (33:11).  Results   Tables

Saturday 8th July - 25 mile TT, E2
Mike Hennessy set a time of 1:06:12 on the E2 course to beat his own Age Record for 76.

Wednesday 5th July - Wednesday League, East Hanningfield with Essex Roads
Roadworks continue in East Hanningfield so a large field were off to the E39 West Hanningfield course again.
David Pennington was fastest of 11 Wheelers, Peter Stiff was fastest Veteran and Katie-Ann Elliston was Fastest Lady. Results    Tables

Tuesday 4th July - Maldon - Southend Interclub 25 Mile TT, Steeple
Southend Wheelers are the 2017 Inter-club Champions recording a team time (fastest 3 riders) of 3:12:14 compared to Maldon's 3:13:27.
David Pennington was fastest rider, and First on Handicap, with 0:58:14. Dan Jenkins set a PB of 1:04:41 as fastest Veteran and First on Vet Age Std. Jamie Maidment was out third counting rider for the Inter-club, Andy Merchant also recorded a PB of 1:11:02. Terry Butcher was our fifth rider. Results     Tables

Sunday 2nd July - Norman Wells 50 Mile TT & Southend Wheelers 50 Mile Cup
Chris Smith III is the 2017 50 Mile Champion, 3rd fastest on the day with Colin Ward of Essex Roads the fastest rider.
