Every month for the past year we have looked back to moments in our club
history from that relevant month. It’s now December, when for most, the
racing season has finished and it’s time for the winter club run, tea
and cake whilst for others it’s time to get cold, wet and muddy – it’s
time for Cyclo-cross. Sunday 16 Dec 1984 the club promoted the Eastern Area Cyclo-Cross Championships at Clements Hall leisure centre, Hawkwell, which also incorporated the Brian Stroud Memorial Trophy. The club has also held several club cross events during the 1980s at Belchamps, Hawkwell. In more recent years club members have taken part in the Maldon Cyclo-cross winter series, where again thick mud has always made for some interesting riding. |
